I haven't read Dotc, but I seriously wish all the clan leaders (Minus Riverstar so he can stay mysterious) were povs. Thunderstar and Skystar being the only clan founder povs was an awful choice I think, even if I've heard great things about Gray Wing.

My favorite characters from the first arc are of course, the toms. Runningwind because why not, and then Ravenpaw and Swiftpaw I found outstanding. Brightheart and Sandstorm, the two in my opinion most notable she-cats, however, loose focus after a while. So did Runningwind but nobody actually cared, though I would enjoy many having a nice novella for him. Firestar was a cat I think almost everyone adored until the books had to let other characters come out on top. The first arc basically gave nothing to she-cats. I liked some of the toms here for not having muscles, lol. I want them not to give toms muscles.

Ever since someone brought up how Shadowstar said Bumble's death wasn't worth getting up over because she was just a kittypet, that greatly lowered my opinion of her. Which is such a shame because I do love her character outside of that.

I just drew TallShadow/ShadowStar the other day. My favorite character design I've done so far... Even though it's a bunch of dark grey and black. She was one of my favorite characters to read about in DOTC. I honestly think DOTC has become my favorite arc... Other than the first ofc. You can't beat the start of it all.

11:12 I have to wonder, given the other dogwhistlish racisms in some other WC content, that Sasha, being a COLORPOINT cat (ie. a Siamese with no traditional point colors) is meant to be an orientalizing figure. Using that framing, their relationship sadly fits the *sigh* common Western literary trope of “submissive Asian women sacrifices everything for dominant Western man”. She likes him because he’s “dominant”, “successful”, “powerful” and he likes her because she’s “exotic”, “submissive”, “feminine” in the ways that female WC aren’t. It would explain the heavy emphasis on Tigerstar’s appearance, because Western beauty standards are the best, doncha know? It would also explain why Sasha insisted that her kits grow up in a Clan; Tigerstar Westernized and “civilized” her by mating with her and it wouldn’t be fair to the kits if they had to grow up in the savage “uncivilized” loner/kittypet world.

I may be wrong but I believe. That firestar lost a life to the fox trap in sunset and a fox attack between arc 2 and 3 😅

This was the first ever warriors book I read when I started to get into the book series. This is honestly one of my favorite warrior books it just brings so many memories of getting into this fandom I do think that the Erin’s should have added more to the book it lacked any action and maybe added more to RavenPaw’s and Barely’s relationship as when I first read this I thought Barely was an acquaintance or a sorta frenemy to RavenPaw and the book is kinda short. But other than that the book is a good read when your board or currently hyper fixated on Warriors

Upon my most recent re-read of Midnight I did think Leafpaw was a little unique right from the get-go in that she is EXTREMELY anxious and sensitive. More so than Fireheart was in TPB and he was already fairly anxious. Compared to later protagonists (especially medicine cat protags) Leafpaw’s anxiety doesn’t stand out that much but it was something that did stand out to me right away because she did seem far more anxious than the rest of the main cast despite having the least-dangerous role of the cast. It doesn’t seem like a detail that’s a big deal now but I do think it does help explain a lot of Leafpool’s character in the later books of this arc and future arcs. A seemingly genetic predisposition to chronic anxiety and additional likelihood of developing PTSD combined with spending most of her adolescence on the verge of starvation also probably doesn’t help calm the nerves. Poor Leafpool never felt a moment of peace.

It started as a Warrior Cats project and you can still see clearly the traces of it. Also there's lots of games you could get away streaming as a cat youtuber! how about Stray? or cat minigames?

I'm writing my own warriors fanfic. It follows my own clans, (StoneClan, VallyClan, SeaClan, BirchClan) and my own cats (like FeatherStar, MoonClaw, HeatherPaw) but the structure is the same as warrior cats. (Like the naming, the ages, the level cats can be) I'm trying to write my own series, maybe more than one. Right now I have the cover art for the first book, (falling moon) and I have finished the allegiances. I'm going to print out the book (in warriors book size) to see if I have enough pages to make the correct number (I know it's not necessary) once I have the correct number of pages, I will attach the pages to the book cover. (I'll probably have to remake it so it fits correctly) The warriors series along with the fanfictions are amazing. Fanfiction is something where people can do au, or use their own things. Im not 100% familiar with fanfiction, nor have i finished the warriors series. But i still love reading fanfiction. One of my favorites so far is an au of LeafPool. I wont give that many spoilers, but its basicly she changes her name to CleavePool. Its kinda gorey so i wouldnt read it if you dont like that kind of stuff. I sadly frogot the name of it, but if you search up 'CleavePool' on youtube or google it will probably show up.

I haven't read it but I want to congratulate you. This is a big project that takes a lot of effort and it sounds like you did a good job! I didnt want to continue the canon warriors series becouse it is a mess but this version sounds like something I may like to read someday

I’ll be honest I don’t really understand this take on Thunder. Because unless I’m mistaken wasn’t Thunder still really young in Thunder Rising? While Gray Wing tells Thunder what happened in terms of Clear Sky abandoning him, it kind of makes sense why a young and naive Thunder would want to know WHY Clear Sky didn’t want him. Being naive and trying to see the best in people even when he shouldn’t is a trait that Thunder learned from GRAY WING. These are traits that don’t mix well with a cat as manipulative and oppressive as Clear Sky. It’s very much worth noting that Thunder does not get the idea to leave Gray Wing on his own- CLEAR SKY is the first to plant the idea in his head after seeing how strong Thunder appears and wanting to capitalize on that strength (which being a very physically strong cat but very much opposing violence unless it’s a last resort is a really interesting character trait that also made Thunder interesting to me? Idk) This is coming from the perspective of someone who quite literally JUST finished reading the last book in DOTC yesterday, so the 2nd half of that arc is fresher in my mind than the first. However, it seems hypocritical to me to be so harsh on Thunder for defending Clear Sky (which was very brief and while he was still more young and naive) while Gray Wing defends Clear Sky’s horrific actions MULTIPLE TIMES in the 5th and 6th books. In fact GRAY WING is the one who presses THUNDER to forgive and help out Clear Sky on the basis that he is Thunder’s biological father (which I agree is ridiculous and adoption erasure). It just leaves a very bad taste in my mouth that Thunder’s entire character arc is about struggling to love and accept himself- a theme that is not only invaluable to ANY reader but ESPECIALLY for kids- and see him dang near used as a scape goat for all of this arcs problems. Gray Wing was an amazing father but he wasn’t perfect and in the end did fail at meeting Thunder’s needs (which isn’t Gray Wing’s fault he’s just a complex and fantastic character). And in the end Thunder did lead the patrol to save Black Ear, only one example of the multiple where Thunder felt more obliged to Gray Wing over Clear Sky in this arc. I definitely see why Thunder’s actions in Thunder Rising comes across as adoption erasure but I think it is absolutely ridiculous to blame the child figure in any adoption situation for something like that. Especially when said child is very explicitly informed that Clear Sky loved and wanted Storm, loved and wanted Star Flower and her kits, loved and wanted Bright Stream and her kits, but explicitly did not want or love Thunder. And is never given a rational explanation why nor is ever truly accepted by Clear Sky for who he is. And he just has to find a way to live with that and be okay with that, to which he does. Even with its faults, Thunder’s story NEEDED to be told.

FYI, the "cyclical citation hellscape" you describe for the Warriors Wiki is a known phenomenon on actual Wikipedia as well. It's called "citogenesis" and is a subtype of a broader mass media issue known as "circular reporting", when news sources just copy each other's claims without investigating the original source of the claim (or lack thereof) for themselves. It's good to stay educated on how this can enable misinformation and bias even in seemingly reliable sources - including, for Warrior Cats specifically, the official website, author statements, and probably even the books themselves by this point (many of which already contain objectively incorrect or contradictory information, so adding citogenesis to the mix can't help).

If you pay attention throughout The Apprentice's Quest, Alderheart is constantly complimented on once he starts his medicine duties and his eventual quest to SkyClan's camp. Every time he had worries on whether or not he was good enough for whatever task at hand he faced, he has others around him reassure him that he is. Of course he starts to get a confidence boost that he's not so useless after all. I don't think his change is abrupt at all. It's built over the course of the book. I think you should give a re-read of the first novel of AVOS to gain a better understanding of his character arc. I've related quite a lot to him due to my own anxiety issues, and if I had enough compliments from those I respect and love, I'd gain much more confidence as well.

Bluestar and mapleshade are my favorites and I hate how they were never given more personality even if both of them got a super edition they just never got enough they both got kits Like every other “important” she And most of our fellow warrior fans are girls or nonbinary people so I’d think that shes would have more importance
